The aims and objectives of the course
The course supplements the curriculum by introducing digital techniques in the process of developing artistic consciousness. It responds to the needs of students associated with the recent development of the new media. Both practically and theoretically, it teaches basic technical skills and advanced methods for recording and editing two-dimensional and spatial image. Electronic media are used for this course to combine audio and visual content in one artistic work. The development of the artistic personality and intellectual ability are goals achieved through a gradual understanding of the technical means and mastering techniques through exercises based on new technologies.
Providing information relating to the roles of media techniques. Transferring knowledge about data carries, 2- and 3-dimensional video recording and editing on the basis of new media such as digital photography and video. Familiarizing students with the methods of sound recording, transmission, editing and the use of recording equipment. Introducing the basic terms and the ability to use concepts such as: text, hypertext, intermedia, multimedia, interactivity – in the appropriate context.
Prerequisites and introductory courses
Basic skills in software for video editing. Awareness of basic issues of design, graphic design and contemporary art allowing for creating one’s own projects without copying. Recording initial ideas in the form of concept sketches and storyboards.
