The basis of the syllabus is the study and interpretation of figures in the broad sense of the issue. It involves both elements of traditional academic methods /construction, elements of anatomy, study of proportions, light, spatial volume, references to history of art/ as well as free, intuitive activities based on self-devised techniques, artistic experiment, spontaneous recording of forms and phenomena in the surrounding reality. An integral part of the syllabus is a sketchbook consulted with the teachers and homework assignments, such as mini-comics, drawing from imagination, automatic drawing. The idea behind these activities is to develop artistic imagination, learn new techniques, improve dexterity and accumulate experience forming a basis for conceptual and design work in subsequent years of study.
